Races: Lianti

When fabled Xian sunk beneath the waves, the legendary transmuter saved the people of his home city by altering them so that they can survive under the sea.

Description

Lianti retain many of their original physical human features: two arms, two legs, and so on. However, they now possess several other features unique to their race as a result of adapting to an underwater existence. They possess small webbing in-between their fingers on their hands and in-between their toes on their feet. They also possess gills on their neck. Their skin now appears as shades of green or blue. Their hair may also be of shades of green or blue in addition to those found among humans.

Lianti are capable of adapting from freshwater to saltwater, and vice versa, but the process takes some time and takes a toll on their bodies.

Racial Traits


Standard Traits

  • Type: Lianti are primanoids with the aquatic and lianti subtypes.
  • Size: Lianti are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
  • Speed: Lianti have a base speed of 30 feet and a swim speed of 30 feet. (2 CP)
  • Languages: Lianti begin play speaking one regional Tritonish language and Aquan. Lianti with high Intelligence scores can choose a regional language from the following: Adarosh, Elvish, Human, Thulkesh, and Tritonish. See the Linguistics skill page for more information about these languages.

Feat and Skill Racial Traits

  • Swim: Because they have a swim speed, lianti gain a +8 racial bonus on Swim checks.

Magical Racial Traits

  • Naturally Psionic: Lianti gain the Wild Talent feat as a bonus feat at 1st Hit Die. If they take levels in a psionic class, they instead gain the Psionic Talent feat. At 4th HD, and every 3 HD after, they gain the Psionic Talent feat as a bonus feat. (3 CP)
  • Lianti Magic: Lianti can use the following psi-like abilities a number of times per day equal to their total Hit Dice: float, missive, my light, psionic repair. They use their total HD as their manifester level. (4 CP)

Senses Racial Traits

  • Darkvision: Lianti have darkvision and so can see perfectly in the dark to a range of 60 feet. At 7th Hit Die, and every 7 HD after, their darkvision range increases by 30 feet. (2 CP)
  • Low-Light Vision: Lianti can see twice as far a human in dim light. At 7th Hit Die, their low-light vision allows them to see three times as far, and four times as far at 14th, and so on every 7 levels after. (1 CP)

Feat Name Category/Type Prerequisites Benefit
Aquatic Combatant Combat Swim 1 rank. You gain a +2 bonus on Swim checks and don’t take the usual penalties on melee attack rolls made underwater. Your slashing melee attacks and unarmed bludgeoning attacks deal full damage underwater.
Atheletic General You get a +2 bonus on Climb and Swim skill checks. If you have 10 or more ranks in one of these skills, the bonus increases to +4 for that skill.
Deep Diver General Endurance. You gain bonuses for diving in deep and cold waters.
Endurance General Harsh conditions or long exertions do not easily tire you.
Overchannel Psionic You burn your life force to strengthen your powers.
Psionic Talent Psionic Having a power point reserve. You gain additional power points to supplement those you already had.
Tidal Swiftness Conduit Knowledge (planes) 5 ranks. As a standard action, you can call forth a tide of water that flows around your feet and enhances your speed, as per slipstream.
Unlocked Talent General Wild Talent. You have discovered your psionic ability, granting you limited manifesting ability.
