House Rules: Psychic Duels

The following house rules modify the Psychic Duels system from Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Occult Adventures.

Psychic Manifestations

Martial initiators can use their initiator level and psionic manifestors can use their manifestor level as their caster level for psychic duels.

Generating Manifestation Points

Generating MP from Select Class Features: As a free action, a combatant with an arcane, grit, ki, panache, power point, or phrenic pool (or any other similar class feature the GM chooses) can spend points from these pools to generate MP at a rate of 1 MP per point spent. These spent points do not recharge until after the combatant gains a full rest.

Sacrificing Spells or Maneuvers to Generate MP: As a free action, a combatant can sacrifice a single extract, maneuver (if he's a martial initiator), spell slot (if he’s a spontaneous caster) or prepared spell (if he’s a prepared caster) to generate a number of MP equal to the level of the maneuver, spell slot or prepared spell sacrificed. The sacrificed extract, maneuver, spell slot, or prepared spell does not recharge and is no longer accessible until after the combatant gains a full rest.

Creating Psychic Manifestations

Step 3—Determine Damage and Conditions: Psionic power points, and psychic spells and spell-like abilities sacrificed grant d8s.
