Lord of Death, Judge of the Dead

St. Jerac was once a mortal human priest of Golastria, the previous goddess of death. He rose to become her champion on the mortal plane, hunting down the undead and tending all people he came across who were on their deathbed. Golastria, who once had a sinister reputation, found her faith on the rise with her priest's noble actions. When Golastria was destroyed by Zhao-Kahn in the Fiend Soul War, Jerac, elevated as a living saint and centuries old already, was deemed worthy by the remaining High Gods to take her place. Since then, St. Jerac has governed the realm of the dead wisely and justly.
St. Jerac is a stern being, and brooks no breaches in the laws of the dead. However, he is also wise enough to add new laws or modify them to ensure the balance between life and death. He despises the undead, as they openly defy the laws of death, which is interpreted as a personal insult towards him, although he makes exceptions. He tolerates people who seek to extend their lives, or even gain immortality, so long as they do not disrupt the natural balance.
The faith of the dead is not as well received as other faiths. Its morbid aspects naturally does not attract many followers. However, death is a natural part of life, and every culture has rituals to take care of their dead.
